What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor position at HIGHLAND PELLETS LLC?
Description:
- Supervise assigned staff delivering key performance indicators (safety, quality, production, and cost).
- Organize employee shift coverages for Vacations and Call-Ins and approve timesheets daily.
- Train new employees and ensure documentation is completed.
- Monitor work progress daily, including documentation of any communications with employees.
- Ensure a safe work environment is established and maintained while monitoring the area for any unsafe conditions or unsafe behavior.
- Provide direction to employees regarding duties and goals.
- Ensure daily and consistent communications and shift meetings.
- Perform work assigned by the Plant Manager to ensure successful operation.
- Ensures quality consistency.
- Ensures that profitability is maintained by working within a budget.
- High school diploma or equivalent education; community college or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years industrial/manufacturing experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of supervising experience.
- Must be proficient in basic computer knowledge, i.e. Word, Excel, Internet, etc.
- Must be self-motivated and detail-oriented.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to pass a Policy Elements Background Check and drug screen.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and rotating shifts.
- Ability to work at heights over 50 feet and lift 50 pounds.
- Demonstrate knowledge of two of the following concepts: Lean Manufacturing, 5-S, Six Sigma, Kaizan, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Hoshin Kanri, Just-In-Time, Leadership Manufacturing.
