Banquet Manager
Department/Division: Food and Beverage
Reports To: Assistant General Manager and General Manager
Supervises Directly: Banquet Staff, Banquet Bartenders
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly) (Tips)
Purpose for the Position:
To set-up banquets, parties, etc., ensuring all arrangements are made to provide the customer with a very high level of service and quality.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Determines amount of future business and workload requirements from information gathered from Catering & Events Director.
2. Requisitions required help and instruct on work expectations for banquet.
3. Meets with function group leaders to determine last minute changes and discuss various set-up arrangements.
4. Ensures proper service to members and guests during the banquet.
5. Ensures proper cleaning of all equipment after function is completed.
6. Supervises assigned banquet personnel: hiring, terminating, training and developing.
7. May assist personnel in setting up a function room to the desired specifications set forth by the Catering & Event Coordinator.
8. Performs other related duties as required.
9. Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
10. Assists in maximizing revenues and profits.

BANQUET MANAGER
Education and Qualifications:
Four-year undergraduate degree in Club Management is preferred.
Two years’ supervisory experience in banquet operations
Three years’ club operations experience, OR an equivalent level of education and experience.
Skills and Abilities:
¨ Read and interpret business records and statistical reports.
¨ Use mathematical skills to interpret financial information and prepare budgets.
¨ Analyze and interpret policies established by administrators.
¨ Understand the government regulations covering business operations.
¨ Make business decisions based on production reports and similar facts.
¨ Make business decisions based on your own experience and personal opinion.
¨ See differences in widths and lengths of lines, such as those on graphs.
¨ Deal with the public, customers, employees, union and government officials with tact and courtesy.
¨ Plan and organize the work of others.
¨ Change activity frequently and cope with interruptions.
¨ Speak and write clearly.
¨ Accept full responsibility for managing an activity.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 20-40 lbs. of force occasionally
Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects
Ability to sit for prolong periods of time, with frequent walking, stooping, bending, and reaching
Ability to stand for brief periods of time
