Bartender
Department/Division: Food and Beverage
Reports To: Food and Beverage Manager, AGM, M.O.D., Banquet Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Purpose for the Position:
To provide prompt and professional service to all customers and to practice all established control systems required in the dispensing of all alcoholic beverages, while maximizing beverage sales and observing all liquor laws and company policies and regulations.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Exercises good public and customer relations skills at all times.
2. Controls all beverage service to ensure customers do not become intoxicated in accordance with liquor and company policies and regulations.
3. Dispenses all alcoholic beverages.
4. Prepares all drink orders as required and, charges for such orders as they are prepared and in the appropriate manner.
5. Complies with all liquor laws.
6. Complies with all health regulations.
7. Performs all side duties such as cleaning, garnish preparation, miscellaneous preparation, stocking, etc.
8. Washes and sanitizes all glasses and utensils.
9. Ensures all alcohol is removed from counters and tables prior to required closing time.
10. Performs other related duties as required.
11. Takes the initiative to greet members/guests in a friendly and warm manner.
12. Reports to work for scheduled shift, on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy.
13. Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
Skills and Abilities:
¨ Use arithmetic to total costs and make change.
¨ Talk with different kinds of people to find out what services they want and to give them information.
¨ Stand or walk for varying lengths of time, sometimes for long periods.
¨ Move fingers and hands easily and quickly to handle things like dishes, money and merchandise.
¨ Lift and carry things like heavy trays.
Physical Demands:
Ability to exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally
Ability to frequently walk, stand, stoop, reach, bend
Ability to push and pull of arm or leg controls
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Environmental Conditions:
Inside: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
