Job Summary:
As the Construction QA Technician you will be primarily responsible for ensuring top quality by evaluating in-process jobs, identifying incomplete imperfections, and inspect finished product done by weatherization specialists to pass PG&E standard inspections.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Successfully complete required training (per Quality Assurance Technician Training Plan) before beginning work and all other training.
- Document findings from QA inspections on QA Checklist(s) and Report forms.
- Identify missed requirements and make minor repairs to homes.
- Support quality assurance operations by adhering to established policies and procedures, reporting areas for improvement.
- Document and communicate irregularities, and failed work to appropriate supervisor.
- Score a minimum of 98% on all training exams administered by the Directory of Training and Development and adheres to Quality Assurance Technician Training Plan
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations (including vehicle maintenance schedule and cleanliness policies)
- Participate in all training sessions and meetings to stay up-to-date with quality assurance best practices.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver’s License and clear a Motor Vehicle Report.
- Minimum 1 years of experience in construction, energy services, or a similar hands-on field. Experience with building systems (such as insulation, HVAC, doors/windows, and weatherization) is preferred.
- Ability to identify quality issues on-site and make minor repairs to homes
- Prior experience in quality control or quality assurance in the construction or related industries, with a keen eye for detail.
- Must be able to promote process improvement, document skills of others, manage processes, and quality management
- Must be computer literate, experience with Outlook and Microsoft Office Products
- Ability to read, analyzes, interpret, and identify, document and report information
- Ability to make minor corrections in homes
- Detail orientated and organized
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, reach, push, pull, walk, climb, crawl, and climb ladders. The employee may also on occasion be required to lift objects up to 50 pounds.
