JOB TITLE: Preschool Aide FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
General Statement of Duties: Responsible for the physical appearance and set-up of the preschool room(s); aids in the supervision of activities of the preschool children; and takes direction and instruction from the Lead Teacher.
Supervision Received: Works under the direction of the Preschool Director, Assistant Preschool Director and Lead Teacher.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Examples of Duties: The following examples of duties are intended to be illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive.
- Assists in the supervision of activities for the class.
- Set up classroom, arrange furniture on class basis, and set up toys.
- Prepares art projects at Lead Teachers direction.
- Pick up toys.
- Disinfect tables, chairs and toys.
- Organize shelves and supplies.
- Prepares snack.
- Attend all staff meetings that serve as the required 15 hours of continuing education.
- Take directions and instructions from the Lead Teacher.
- Performs related duties as required and assigned.
- Maintains a professional attitude while supporting the objectives of the Preschool program.
- Treats all children with dignity and respect.
Physical and Environmental Standards:
Must be able to repeatedly sit, walk, stand, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, reach and lift, push, and pull. Ability to communicate face-to-face is needed. Vision requirements include near and far acuity. Must be able to properly lift/move 20 pounds unassisted and 40 pounds with help. Able to move quickly when a childs well-being is in jeopardy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to effectively communicate with participants, parents and coworkers. Desire to learn. Willing to take direction and instruction from others. Must attend all staff meetings that serve as the required 15 hours per year of continuing education. Must possess or be able to complete all Human Services requirements, including CPR and First Aid, within 30 days.
Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
