ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing support and assistance to the Public Works and Engineering Department in general.
- Special projects, data entry, data compilation, and analysis for ongoing contract work or projects may be assigned.
- Conduct public presentations related to stormwater quality issues.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Candidates that are enrolled in a civil engineering trade or program at a college level are preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Working knowledge of computer programs including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and the ability to learn and use other computer software and tools including AutoCAD.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data using fundamental math and basic engineering computations.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of computers, electronic data processing; as well as spreadsheet, database and engineering software applications are necessary.
- Must work effectively with staff members, individual customers, other organizations, and the public.
- Ability to manage priorities, multiple concurrent assignments, and organize and coordinate tasks.
- Represent the District in a professional manner and maintain positive working relationships inside and outside the organization.
- Ability to present to large and small groups.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
This position is under the supervision of the Public Works and Engineering Project Manager.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT
Computers including Office 365, spreadsheet applications, graphics, and database software, hand tools, calculator, MFP Copier, cell phone, automobile or truck, metal detector, GNSS receiver, survey equipment, etc.

WORK SCHEDULE
Generally, works between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work schedules can vary depending on weather conditions, projects, events, programs, meetings, and staffing levels, and may include evening and weekend hours. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office and in outside weather conditions including inclement weather. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
