Summary of the Position
The Branch Manager is a sales-oriented position requiring adeptness in all aspects of branch supervision and operations, responsible for the promotion of the banks’ products and services and overall public image. In addition, this position requires the ability to generate, evaluate and successfully close on a wide range of consumer and mortgage loan activity. Identifies and refers potential business prospects to Commercial Lending Officers. Actively participates in community organizations and activities. This position requires the ability to manage, coach and train branch personnel to achieve the expected sales results, ensuring exceptional customer service.
Principal Responsibilities
- Develop and investigate consumer, business and mortgage loan opportunities, increase loan portfolio and improve penetration within the local community.

- Serve as primary consumer/mortgage lender.
- Interview applicants, review credit, document loans, obtain approval, etc. as necessary to increase all consumer and mortgage loan portfolios consistent with bank policy.
- Discover and investigate potential business loan and deposit opportunities. Work together with Commercial Lending Officers to increase business loan portfolio.
- Participate in the Officer Call program.
- Provide accurate and efficient servicing of customers’ transactions and promotes a sales and service culture among staff members. May function as Teller and/or Customer Service Representative based on branch needs.
- Resolve customer issues at the branch level, referring only more complex matters to appropriate areas of the Bank.
- Manage the daily operations of the branch office according to the Bank’s policies.
- Manage assigned staff by ensuring that the office is effectively staffed with well-trained, motivated and qualified personnel.
- Provide guidance and direction to subordinates and resolves personnel problems.
- Make recommendations regarding employment, performance appraisals, wage changes, transfers, promotions and terminations.
- Protect Bank’s assets through security policies and adherence to overall Bank policies.
- Perform and assist in additional assignments as directed.
Candidate Qualifications
5 years Retail Banking experience and Bachelor in Business or equivalent experience. Knowledge of the following: deposit products, small business products, consumer loan products, bank underwriting systems (combined with the ability to read and analyze a loan application and review a credit report if necessary), mortgage and commercial loan products (with the ability to complete the initial contact if necessary) and electronic delivery products. Good knowledge of other bank products and services, sufficient to have initial conversations with prospects, qualify leads, and refer quality business. Strong sales skills and the ability to coach others. Good motivational and training skills and excellent verbal communications skills. Knowledge of the local community is helpful. Register and maintain the unique identifier number as required by SAFE Act.
