The RN-Psychiatric PRN provides direct patient care to individuals with psychiatric conditions using the nursing process, adhering to established standards of practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer medications as prescribed by physicians
- Document patient care and progress in a timely and accurate manner
- Monitor patient conditions and report any changes or concerns to the care team
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and treatment plans
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree, or RN Diploma required
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire or must be obtained within 90 days of employment, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 12 months of employment
- Current TN or Multi-State RN licensure
- Six months to one year experience with psychiatric/behavioral patients
Patient Care Philosophy:
This role emphasizes patient advocacy, education, and support for both patients and their families. The RN-Psychiatric PRN works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient and evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
