RN-Surgery/OR FT Days at HighPoint - Riverview Regional Medical Center Summary:
As a Registered Nurse in the Surgery/OR department, I provide direct patient care, prepare and manage surgical instruments, and collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Description:Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring patient conditions, adhering to strict sterile techniques during procedures, educating patients and their families on care plans, and coordinating necessary support services prior to discharge.
I work closely with the Director of Surgical Services to ensure seamless patient care.

I also maintain accurate records of patient care, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
I am responsible for identifying, disassembling, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, and processing reusable supplies and patient care equipment used in the hospital.
I adhere to strict adherence to sterile technique and equipment instructions to avoid infection of patient and self-contamination of equipment and supplies.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education: Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree or RN Diploma required.
Required Skills: Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred Certifications: American Heart Association or American Red Cross Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP), Perioperative Nurse (CNOR).
Minimum Work Experience: One to two years OR experience preferred; on-call will be required.
Required Licenses: Registered Nurse, Current TN or Multi-State RN licensure.
