Description
Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Master Patient Index and abstracting modules for HPHS. Responsible for system updates of the MPI and Abstracting modules, staff training, and performance improvement reviews. Preforms daily auditing of claims for payers for adherence to established coding guidelines and optimum reimbursement.
Reports to : Director Revenue Integrity
Qualifications
Minimum Education
Associate of Science degree in Health Information Technology - Required
Bachelor of Science degree in Health Information Management - Preferred Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Ability to work with multiple departments for problem solving. Required Skills
Licenses : RHIT (Associate's degree) or RHIA (Bachelor's) - Preferred Minimum Work Experience
Must have two to three years’ experience within an acute care setting with emphasis on ICD-9-CM, CPT coding, Record Analysis, should have knowledge of TJC (The Joint Commission) standards, computer systems, & quality improvement techniques.
