Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive System Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure team. Reporting to the Director of IT Infrastructure, the System Administrator will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of both on-premises and cloud-based systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure Cloud, Microsoft 365, Entra, Intune, and databases, as well as a broad understanding of system administration best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain Azure Cloud environments, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security.
  • Oversee on-premises server infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of physical and virtual servers.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 and Office 365 environments, including email, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Configure and manage identity and access solutions using Entra (formerly Azure AD) and related technologies.
  • Deploy and manage Intune for device management, application deployment, and policy enforcement.
  • Support database administration tasks, including backups, performance optimization, and security.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to develop and enforce security policies and procedures.
  • Document system configurations, changes, and processes.
  • Provide Tier 2 / 3 support for escalated issues related to systems and applications.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7 - 9 years of hands-on experience in system administration.
  • Expertise in managing Azure Cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Office 365 suite.
  • Proficiency in Entra (Azure AD) for identity and access management.
  • Experience with Intune for endpoint management.
  • Working knowledge of database administration (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL).
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve complex system issues.
  • Preferred Skills :

  • Industry certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate, MCSA, or equivalent.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and service management principles.
  • Knowledge of Linux systems administration.
  • Exposure to cloud-based databases and DevOps practices.
