What are the responsibilities and job description for the SUPERINTENDENT position at Hight Construction?
Due to expansive growth, Hight Construction LLC of Minot, ND is seeking seasoned commercial construction jobsite superintendents for full-time, long-term commitments. The superintendent will be responsible for jobsite efficiency and will oversee all aspects of the construction process including 1) supervision of on-site personnel, 2) tracking/recording field changes, 3) monitoring jobsite safety, 4) ensuring project schedules are met, and 5) maintaining quality control. This flexible role will require communication with administrative team members (i.e. RFI's, field authorizations, site meetings) as well as occasionally strapping on a set of bags when needed. This problem-solver will take charge and get the job DONE.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/DUTIES: • 5 years commercial construction field experience with proven track-record • Ability to read/understand blueprints/specifications/shop drawings and field orders; strong math & analytical skills • Promote a positive, effective work environment fostering communication and teamwork • Maintain daily paperwork (i.e. timecards, field authorizations, daily reports) • High level of customer service and communication • Orders day-to-day materials and schedules inspections as necessary to maintain schedule • Schedules and supervises completion of a project closeout responsibilities including punch list • Ensure trades on site are efficiently carrying out duties assigned • See that required permits, labor notices, safety rules/regulations, and EEOC materials are posted • Ensure field change requests and authorizations are administrated and carried out • Maintain positive relationships with employees, inspectors, clients, architects, trade partners and other key people connected with the project • Deliver quality work consistent and according to the project plans & specifications • Have a working knowledge of civil, architectural, mechanical & electrical construction • Ability to stage, coordinate and manage an organized and safe job site • Possess valid North Dakota driver’s license • Able to perform physical tasks common to carpentry position; lifting items up to 100 pounds, kneeling, bending, standing, climbing, repetitive motion, use of hand tools, etc. • Ability to occasionally work nights and weekends and/or out of town • Remain proactive throughout the project to limit gaps and lapses in production • Ascertain that the proper grades are followed, and construction is accurately located
