Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Salary: $68,640 annually, plus commission opportunities!

Schedule: 8-hour shift, Day shift, Monday thru Friday with expectation to work weekends and holidays based on business levels.

Reports To: Corporate Director of Sales for Highway West Vacations related to group and event sales in collaboration with property General Manager.

Job Overview

Group and Events Sales Manager is responsible for generating and confirming group business from the local and regional market. Maximization of sales, development of potential markets and sound administration of assigned responsibilities through sensible delegation and personal attention to detail are critical to the role. Position is responsible to develop and maintain a region plus additional secondary markets to gain new group business. The sales manager is provided a sales goal as a primary, however, not exclusive measure of performance.

Responsibilities

  • Book group business to meet and exceed property budgeted revenues.
  • Daily prospecting for new business to meet weekly outbound activity goals
  • Travel locally for outside sales visits and occasionally outside the local area for sales visits, client entertainment, trade shows and training.
  • Plans and executes site tours or client entertainment events on a local and regional basis as prescribed by the Sales Action Plan.
  • In the process of soliciting and booking group business for property, sales manager will uncover business for sister properties.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Negotiate leads through the sales process up until signed agreement.
  • Provides clear, complete details of booking in a “turnover” process to the operations team.
  • Develop relationships with clients which includes connecting with them during their on-site events.
  • Performs additional duties as outlined by the HWV Corporate Director of Sales
  • Professional and ethical behavior in dealing with clients and fellow staff members.
  • Is a team player, seeking to support others in their goals and contribute ideas.
  • Activate new accounts and increase market share from existing accounts in local, and regional through intentional and strategic prospecting.
  • Deliver weekly sales strategy updates over MS Teams for property to report on progress.
  • Develop and nurture a sales pipeline utilizing TripleSeat CRM to manage accounts and illustrate selling cycles!
  • Create remarkable client experiences, manage client expectations, and maintain an elevated level of client satisfaction. Representing your clients with professionalism and integrity
  • Work in tandem with the Corporate Director of Revenue and Corporate Director of Sales to manage top line revenue budgets, execute pricing strategies and revenue forecasts to ensure profitability.
  • Collaborate with hotel management teams, event staff, coordinators, reservationists, front desk teams and other departments to ensure seamless execution of all group bookings and events.

Qualifications

  • Must have minimum of 3 years’ experience in a hospitality sales role with proven track record of year over year improvement of top line group/event revenue.
  • Sales CRM experience – TripleSeat experience a plus.
  • In depth understanding of multiple market segments not limited to S.M.E.R.F., Corporate, Non-Profit, Government
  • Multi-unit sales experience a plus
