Essential Job Responsibilities
- Identifies current and future electrical requirements by establishing a rapport with management, engineering, production personnel, technicians, and other persons in a position to understand electrical requirements.
- Ensures production operations by determining work priorities, scheduling repair and maintenance, of Well site automation.
- Supports product development and improvement by reviewing new product plans, discussing equipment needs and modifications.
- Directs Instrumentation & Electrical operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Assists with the planning, scheduling, and implementation of construction, maintenance, and operating activities of the plant/field.
- Receive training higher level employees on how to perform the duties of maintenance, construction, and repair of Automation and other company equipment. Assists Production operators, as needed.
- Maintains employee confidence and protects corporate assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed.
- Adheres to the company’s values – integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment and innovation.
- Supports company vision and mission.
- Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Three (3) years minimum experience required in oil and gas and field Automation maintenance.
- Preferred: Prior analyzer experience
- Ability to work in a high H2S facility/field
- Specialized knowledge of DC Voltage Systems and up to 480Vac systems.
- Able to travel and may be required to stay overnight for certain task and projects.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings.
- Required working knowledge of Program Logic Controllers (PLC) and flow computers.
- Required ability to perform maintenance and troubleshooting on multiple type of controllers. (Ex: Fisher, Kimray, Totalflow, Bristol, Sam Controller, etc.)
- Required ability to install, develop and maintain Radio and Cellular networks for reliable communications to SCADA. Including modbus communications with 3rd Party devices.
- Ability to read and understand Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
- Required ability to perform maintenance and troubleshooting on automation end devices.
- Working knowledge of variable speed drives for electrical motors.
- Working knowledge of electronic or pneumatic control valves.
- Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
- Ability to accurately solve problems.
- Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, and the public.
- Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
- Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent or any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability and skill to handle the duties and responsibilities of the position.
