What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-time plant operator and relief route driver position at Hildebrand Farms Dairy?
Hildebrand Farms Dairy is looking for a full-time employee whose time will be split between the bottling plant and delivery. The employee’s first focus will be to deliver milk to grocery stores in the event of a driver absence or holiday. To deliver the product the employee must be comfortable driving an automatic straight box truck with a refrigeration unit (no CDL is required). Often routes begin at 3:30 to 4:00 a.m. and conclude at 3:30 to 4 p.m. Responsibilities on route include: recording product inventory, creating the order and invoices, pulling the order off the truck, working with a store associate to check in the product, stocking the shelves, organizing back stock and finally load the returned glass bottles on the truck. Covering the route delivery will take approximately 12-15 weeks of the year, after training. Training on route will take 3-6 weeks.
When not covering delivery route, the employee will work full-time in our processing plant. As a plant operator, responsibilities include: keeping a sanitized work environment, assisting the team in washing and filling bottles, and ensuring that all standard operating procedures are properly followed. Hours in the processing plant are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. The right employee, will first master the processing plant before beginning training on route. We are looking for a self-starter who can handle limited supervision, but enjoys working in a team environment.
This is a new position and experience is not required.

Requirements
- Physically able to handle heavy lifting from 40 - 90 lbs.
- Must have a high school diploma.
- Grocery store, DSD delivery, or manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Qualified drivers license with no more than three moving violations in the last year (CDL not required).
