Community Engagement Specialist
Job Description:
We're seeking a dynamic Community Engagement Specialist to join our team at HCCM. This role is pivotal in fostering strong community relationships, driving engagement, and supporting our fundraising efforts. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator, adept at building partnerships, and passionate about community outreach.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Community Engagement Strategy:
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive community engagement plan.
- Design and execute strategies, projects, and events that align with HCCM's goals.
2. Relationship Building:
- Cultivate and strengthen relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, organizations, businesses, and churches.
- Foster positive collaborations and partnerships to enhance HCCM's community presence.
3. Event Management:
- Organize and assist a variety of events, including donor gatherings, galas, fundraising dinners, board meetings, and facility tours.
- Work closely with the event coordinator, vendors, marketing team, and staff to ensure smooth execution and maximize net revenue.
4. Stewardship and Fundraising:
- Develop and nurture relationships with companies, groups, individual prospects, and in-kind sponsors to increase annual giving and secure valuable donations and sponsorships.
- Create and implement post-event engagement plans, ensuring timely follow-up with attendees.
- Collaborate with the executive director and event coordinator on strategic donor engagement initiatives.
- Actively contribute to meeting or exceeding annual departmental and individual fundraising goals.
5. Communications and Outreach:
- Act as a liaison between HCCM and the community, representing the organization at public events and community functions.
- Create and manage content for various communication channels, including printed materials, emails, newsletters, website, and social media.
6. Volunteer Recruitment:
- Implement strategies to recruit volunteers through community outlets.
7. Impact Measurement:
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of community engagement initiatives.
- Prepare and present reports on engagement outcomes to leadership.
This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, excellent interpersonal skills, and a results-oriented approach. The successful candidate will be instrumental in enhancing HCCM's community presence, fostering valuable partnerships, and contributing to our fundraising success.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field or years of similar work experience
· Experience in community engagement or related field preferred but not necessary
· Excellent communication skills both written and oral
· Strong knowledge in current technology and social media applications
· Strong time management and project management skills
· Ability to work individually and with supervision
· Flexible and adaptable to both schedule and direction
· Must be a team player

· Professional in dealing with clients and stakeholders always representing HCCM in a positive manner
· Passionate about community engagement and committed to making a positive impact in the lives of others
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
