MHDD, a non-profit government organization (NGO), seeks an experienced philanthropy professional with a passion for non-profit excellence. As a member of our senior leadership team, the Director of Philanthropy will create, execute, and evaluate all philanthropy strategies with a donor and foundation centered philosophy to ensure a diverse and sustainable revenue portfolio to support MHDDs mission.
You will get to:
Create, execute & evaluate the organizations philanthropy strategy.
In concert with our CEO, board, and other key stakeholders, create a comprehensive philanthropy strategy and annual operating plan that promotes mission achievement and financial sustainability.
Execute the organizations philanthropy operating plan to achieve plan goals. Effectively steward all MHDD donors and cultivate new potential foundation and corporate partners. Make donor and potential donor appointments, calls and visits, and solicit funds and other resources for the organization.
Build and grow external relationships with current and potential donors. Organize and implement relationship-building strategies and activities with donors, work closely with senior staff to maintain a vast network of relationships across our service communities. As our Director of Philanthropy, you will strive to understand and foster individual community funding needs while maintaining the core Mission, Vision, and Values of MHDD.

Youll definitely need:
A bachelors degree in business, Marketing, Health Care Administration, or related fields.
AND 1-3 years of professional work experience in fund/philanthropy development in the non-profit and/or foundation arena.
Preferred: A Master of Arts, Master of Business Administration.

- Demonstrated ability to build a culture of philanthropy within an organization and to successfully engage in donor, foundation, and corporate giving solicitation and ongoing donor stewardship.
- Comfort and facility with a wide range of philanthropic work, including solicitation and stewardship of individual, foundation and corporate donors, donors and potential donor cultivation and research, grant writing, and special events.
- A successful track record in executing strategy, setting priorities, managing multiple projects, and working effectively under pressure to achieve individual and organizational goals.
- Strong organization, detail-oriented, reliable, and flexible; thriving in a fast-paced environment; a driving force who manages toward clarity, finds solutions, and can think strategically about the organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, an ability to listen to and balance, negotiate and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- A keen and developed visual aesthetic, which contributes to MHDDs brand management.
- A consummate team player with a flexible, collaborative, and creative approach who can lead from behind and empower teammates to contribute their best.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, donor databases, web-based applications, and use of the various internet research tools.
- Keen interest in learning and developing as a professional, staying on top of best practice research.
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to MHDDs social mission.
- Some travel may be required and occasional flexibility in the work schedule.
