Established in 1977, Hill Country Youth Ranch is a non-profit charitable corporation licensed by the Health and Human Service Commission to provide a safe, loving, and life-enhancing Christian environment for children and young adults, as they overcome the effects of trauma and abuse.
Hill Country Youth Ranch is a faith-based organization and considers every position one of ministry. Hill Country Youth Ranch is hiring house parents for multiple positions at their Ingram and Leakey campuses located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country.
Some duties of a house parent are:
- Know, understand, and uphold Hill Country Youth Ranch's mission statement which is to provide a safe, loving, life-enhancing, Christian environment for children and young adults.
- Supervise residents to ensure their safety and well-being and adjust the level of supervision according to the circumstances and needs of the residents in care.
- Observe physical, mental, and emotional conditions of children. Report and document changes
- Maintain accurate documentation of youth progress and any incidents.
- Implement HCYR approved behavior management techniques as needed.
- Support and foster youth participation in spiritual development activities in the home and through services and programs offered by Hill Country Youth Ranch.
- Plan community engagement and recreational activities for children.
- Safely transport children to and from school, appointments, or outings as required.
- Plan and prepare healthy meals and snacks for children in the home.
- Ensure youth maintain proper hygiene, grooming, and dress appropriately.
- Maintain safe, clean, and orderly home for the children.
Current openings for Live-in Houseparent and Live-in Houseparent Couples at both locations.
Live in positions include room and board for the employee only. No pets.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in direct child/youth care or related field preferred
- Ability to effectively manage challenging behaviors with patience and empathy
- Experience in direct care for individuals with diverse needs
- Ability to complete on-site childcare training program located at the Ingram campus, prior to job placement. Hill Country Youth Ranch provides onsite paid training for selected candidates. Additional details will be provided during application process to all interested applicants.
Job Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must complete The Diana Screen®.
- Must pass criminal background checks and drug screen.
- Must have current TB (tuberculosis) screening or obtain new one.
Education:
- Required- Minimum High School diploma or GED
