As a Medical Management Application Analyst, you will be a vital contributor to our team responsible for the support of utilization management through the Epic Systems Tapestry application. The Medical Management Application Analyst utilizes Tapestry to process utilization management accurately and efficiently. The Analyst will:
- Be primary responsibility for the releases, quarterly upgrades, and operational support of Tapestry. Works with business users to manage the technical needs requested of Tapestry.
- Ensures realistic customer expectations are identified and met. Builds strong team relationships with vendors and internal staff throughout the organization.
- Analyzes, designs, builds, tests, and deploys Utilization Management solutions in Epic Tapestry.
- Duties may include but are not limited to ASA, Workqueues, Workflows, Member Coverages, Provider/POS, Reports and Dashboards, as well as System Release and Upgrades.
- Leverages understanding of authorization policies and procedures that affect the automatic approval or denial of authorizations.
- Knowledge of areas that integrate with UM or referrals, including scheduling referrals, creating authorizations from orders, and using authorizations to pay claims if installing Tapestry AP Claims and use of care plans to conduct case management review.

- Identifying issues that arise in their application area as well as issues that affect other application teams, and working to resolve them
- Guiding workflow design, build/configuring and testing the system, and analyzing other technical issues associated with software ensuring design and configuration meets patient care and business needs
- Works with the IS. Team members, vendors and customers to ensure that the application systems are properly maintained and necessary changes are reliably tested, implemented, and documentation is current. Serving as a liaison between end users' workflow needs and implementation staff
- Maintaining regular communication with software representatives, business community, and end users to ensure the system meets the organization's business needs in regards to the project deliverables and timeline
- Developing an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for the organization's workflows by attending site visits and other integrated sessions
- Expert in workflows identifies areas for system optimization and process improvement. Develops solutions and collaborates with the team and management to implement these solutions.
- Works to ensure that user problems and configuration requests are appropriately addressed, and system upgrades are successfully executed with minimal disruption to operations
- Develops and manages effective customer relationships with end-users and other team members to enhance the timeliness and effectiveness of technology solutions.
- Responds promptly to the needs of end-users, and meets Service Level Agreements as defined in conjunction with our customers following issues through to closure.
- Participates in team and leadership meetings to discuss team and ongoing project related activities, issues, change, communications, and updates.
- Typically provides training and guidance to colleagues with less experience, but no formal supervisory responsibility
- May be accountable for leading small projects with moderate risk
- Recognizes when the team needs to be given direction. Proactively looks for feedback to share in their peers work and solicits feedback in return.

Required Experience and Professional Skills:
Experience
- 5-7 years of experience in Managed Healthcare and previous experience in Epic Tapestry (Referral & Authorization) required
- 2 years of experience in healthcare Utilization Management processing or a related role

Education
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, etc.) or equivalent experience
Certifications
- Proficiency with the Epic Systems Tapestry application is a required
- Epic Certification in Referral & Authorization required
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance, including HIPAA, is preferred
Salary Range
$125-145K/year DOE
This position will have an up to 8% annual performance bonus earning potential and offers a full suite of benefits including up to 6.5% 401k matching.
PLEASE NOTE: We are only seeking candidates who are in/near San Ramon, CA and willing to work a hybrid (two days per week) work schedule. We're open to relocations.
