Role Overview
The Violence Interrupter Program Manager will supervise a team of Violence Interrupters, ensuring the successful implementation of violence reduction strategies in high-priority communities. You will oversee training, documentation, and the execution of the programs goals, working closely with community organizations and stakeholders to drive measurable results.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Supervise and support a team of Violence Interrupters, ensuring they effectively carry out their duties, including conflict mediation, community outreach, and violence prevention.
- Program Management: Oversee the implementation of program strategies, monitor progress, and ensure alignment with grant objectives.
- Training and Development: Organize and facilitate training programs for Violence Interrupters, including restorative justice techniques, trauma-informed care, and conflict mediation.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and documentation for program activities, outcomes, and grant compliance.
- Community Engagement: Build relationships with community members, organizations, and stakeholders to promote collaboration and support for violence prevention efforts.
- Conflict Resolution: Collaborate with the team to identify, mediate, and de-escalate conflicts that may lead to violence, while promoting ceasefires and restorative justice practices.
- Service Connection: Coordinate with case managers and community navigators to connect community members with critical resources, including job training, mental health services, and educational opportunities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in program management, community engagement, or a related field.
- Familiarity with restorative justice principles and trauma-informed care practices.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and documentation abilities.
- A passion for violence prevention and community empowerment.
- Lived experience or deep understanding of the communities being served is highly preferred.
