A Day in the Life of a PCT:

Responsibilities:
">- Assist with patient care tasks such as obtaining vital signs, transporting patients, passing meal trays, delivering hygiene care, and answering inquiries within the scope of practice. ">
- Support nursing staff by receiving patients at the desk, taking patients to appropriate rooms, giving initial instructions, assisting in transporting discharged patients, and answering inquiries within the scope of practice. ">
- Act as the unit's receptionist, assign patients to rooms, alert nursing staff to patient arrival, pull and prepare charts, order and monitor selected supplies, and assist with stocking supplies and keeping nursing stations clean and organized.
Requirements:

Job Requirements:
">- High school diploma or equivalent. ">
- Basic Life Support certification.
Preferred Requirements:
">- Two years of experience in acute or long-term care. ">
- Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy. ">
- Completion of approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school.
