POSITION SUMMARY
The Director, Facilities plans, organizes, supervises, coordinates and controls the activities required to maintain facility operations of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems (including grounds, utilities, and maintenance) to ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation agencies with regards to the physical environment of the hospital. Provides leadership with an emphasis on developing staff and monitoring performance while assessing the organizational structure for improvement and long-term success.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides leadership with an emphasis on developing staff and monitoring performance while assessing the organizational structure for improvement and long-term success.
- Direct technical staff, including hiring, training, personnel development
- Manage operations and maintenance for assigned facilities and assists in development of operating and capital budgets
- Manage negotiations for contract services.
- Reviews facilities management reports. Works with appropriate departments to discuss and resolve discrepancies.
- Recommend/implement improvements for preventive maintenance programs on an on-going basis and develop/maintain effective building-specific maintenance and safety procedure manuals
- Coordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors, tenant finish personnel and technicians
- Oversee all building systems including fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC and electrical issues and must remain current with latest HVAC technology trends
- Maintain on-going communication with tenants, clients, owners, facility management team and vendors
- Respond to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment failure etc.) and customer concerns
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, requisitions, government agencies and company directives as relates to building operations
- Develop specifications and assists in solicitation and administration of maintenance/repair service contracts
- Provide formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area
- Responsible for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination.
- Plan and monitor appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime
- Prepare and deliver performance appraisals for staff. Mentor and coach team members to further develop competencies.
- Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and facility directives related to building operations and work safety.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of six years of relevant facilities management experience
- Facility management certification preferred
- Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding
