Hills Flat Lumber is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Nursery Sales Associate to join our Grass Valley, CA team. As a Nursery Sales Associate, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service, offering expert advice on plant care, and ensuring the overall satisfaction of our customers. Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
· Greet customers warmly and provide a welcoming atmosphere.
· Assist customers in selecting plants, trees, shrubs, and gardening supplies.
· Answer questions related to plant care, pest control, and landscape design.
· Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
· Handle customer complaints and returns in a professional manner.
Product Knowledge
· Stay updated on the latest horticultural trends and plant care techniques.
· Maintain a deep understanding of the products offered, including seasonal plants and gardening supplies.
· Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance product knowledge and sales skills.
Inventory Management
· Monitor inventory levels and restock shelves as needed.
· Assist with receiving and unpacking shipments of plants and gardening supplies.
· Ensure that all products are accurately labeled and priced.
· Organize and maintain the nursery area to create an attractive display.
Plant Care
· Water plants regularly and ensure they receive the necessary care.
· Monitor the health of plants and take appropriate action to address any issues.
· Prune and trim plants to maintain their appearance and health.
· Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other treatments as needed.
Team Collaboration
· Work closely with other team members to achieve sales goals.
· Communicate effectively with colleagues and management.

Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred).
· Passion for plants and gardening.
· Previous experience in a retail or customer service role (Preferred).
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
· Basic knowledge of horticulture and plant care.
· Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
Work Environment
· This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions.
· Ability to lift and carry plants, pots, and gardening supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.

Friday: 10am-7pm
Saturday: 10am-7pm
Sunday: 8am-5pm
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
