Hillsboro Community Hospital is a 15-bed critical access hospital located in Marion County, Kansas, near the scenic Flint Hills and Marion Reservoir Lake. The hospital is less than an hour’s drive from Wichita, Salina, Hutchinson, and Emporia.

Summary:
The CEO oversees all hospital operations, ensuring efficient management and high-quality healthcare delivery. Reporting to the RHG Regional VP/COO, the CEO is responsible for aligning the hospital’s strategic direction with community healthcare needs. The CEO should be able to appropriately manage the facility with little to no supervision. The CEO at Hillsboro is only required to participate in quarterly board meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the governing board to implement policies and strategic plans.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and accreditation standards.
- Oversee financial operations, including budgeting and fiscal planning.
- Foster a positive environment for medical staff and employees.
- Lead recruitment and retention efforts for medical staff.
- Develop community relationships to promote health awareness and hospital services.
- Ensure the hospital’s physical resources and facilities are maintained.
- Evaluate departmental performance and ensure operational effectiveness.
- Represent the hospital in state and national healthcare associations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage department leaders across multiple units, including surgery, radiology, rehab therapy, nursing, and business operations. Responsibilities include hiring, training, performance evaluations, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) required; Master’s in Healthcare Administration (M.H.A.) preferred.
Experience: Minimum five years in a healthcare leadership role or equivalent.
Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, HRIS, payroll, and project management software. Knowledge of CPSI is preferred.
Certifications: Diplomate or Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives preferred.
