About the Hops
The Hillsboro Hops are a single-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Located in Hillsboro, Oregon, approximately 15 miles west of Portland, the Hops currently play at Hillsboro Ballpark but are in the middle of major construction of a brand new ballpark in partnership with the City of Hillsboro. The world-class entertainment venue will open in time for the 2026 baseball season and will host a full season of High A baseball, concerts, community events, and more. They have won three (3) Championship Titles since 2013 and were awarded the Bob Freitas Award in 2017, given to the best operators in Minor League Baseball.

Essential Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities
- Ensures all catering services and events exceed guest expectations
- Successfully presents Hillsboro Hops/Northwest Roots Hospitality catering services to guests in a manner that exceeds guest expectations and profitability
- Takes a lead role in marketing the Hillsboro Hops Ballpark facilities for non-game days
- Communicates guests’ needs through timely and detailed written and verbal communications to ensure internal understanding/compliance and external guests’ expectations of services
- Initiates contact with guests to secure their food and beverage selections in advance of the event date
- Ensures team members are consistently delivering sincere hospitality to every guest, every time
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, guests, subcontractors, not-for-profits, and Hillsboro Hops/Northwest Roots Hospitality team members
- Regularly obtains feedback from guests to improve operations
- Work closely with Executive Chef and management to develop customized menus for concerts, conferences, and special events, ensuring seamless food service execution
- Executes all menus, promotions, and programs as outlined by Hops sales and Culinary teams
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene and health and safety regulations and follow and enforce responsible alcohol service policies
- Ensure labor cost control and food cost control
- BEO production through final event settlement
- Oversee and assist with the preparation, transportation, setup, operation, and clean-up of all events
- Promotes a cooperative work climate, maximizing productivity and morale
- Displays a positive attitude toward team members
- Conducts regularly scheduled meetings to ensure lines of communication are open between management and team members
- Must be flexible to work extended hours due to business requirements including nights, weekends, and holidays as dictated by event schedule(six-game homestands, concerts, etc)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 2 years of upscale catering experience
- Verifiable experience in buffet service, plated dinners for 300 people, and social events
- High level of computer literacy
- Passion for hospitality, food, fun, and service
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
Work Environment
The duties of this position are performed both indoors and outdoors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud depending on events in a stadium environment with thousands of guests in attendance. Consistently works in small workspaces or moves about in crowds of thousands of people. Occasional exposure and communication with intoxicated guests. This job description is subject to change.
