Position Summary:
Hiring Salary Range: $79,714.80 to $87,686.50 depending on qualifications.
The purpose of this position is to manage the HCC EMT & Paramedic programs, (EMS Programs) related to faculty , staff ,student progression in the program and day to day operations of the program. The Associate Dean represents the program in the HCC and healthcare community and maintains accreditation and licensure of the program abiding by national accreditation standards and the rules and policies of the State of Florida.
Job Duties:
- Leads student recruitment, admissions, and orientation activities and procedures. Evaluates and assists in resolution of routine and complex student concerns, complaints, needs and issues. Assists and guides students.
- Oversee the operations of the EMS program at three campuses in compliance with state rules and statutes and accreditation policies. Prepares annual accreditation reports, periodic self-studies, and prepares for site visits for EMT State Licensure and CoAEMSP accreditation.
- Works with faculty, staff and Dean to develop, administer and monitor the EMS department program operating budgets and personnel, equipment and supply needs. Pursues resources and alternate source of funding.
- Oversees the activities of program coordinator to include lab and clinical schedules.
- Visit Satellite campuses bi-weekly. Develops and maintains affiliations with clinical sites. Guides clinical schedules.
- Manages student concerns according to EMS programs policies and HCC policies. Communicates with students on all campuses to provide access to program administration.
- Coordinates Advisory Committee, Coordinating Council, faculty, and other EMS committees; serves on college committees.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree, certified paramedic and five to seven years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred qualifications are a Master’s degree, a Florida Paramedic license and State of Florida EMS instructor qualifications license and the following work experience: (1) at least three years teaching EMS in higher education, (2) at least four years of field experience patient care as a paramedic, and (3) at least four years of related administrative experience.
