Job Overview
The Program Coordinator (Instructional Media/IT) assists in the development and implementation of educational systems using various multi-media platforms for videography, photographic, educational posters and banners, hybrid education, and various IT educational solutions. The program coordinator manages web and social media platforms/communities and provides needed marketing support for the educational programs to Extension stakeholders. The position also serves as Extension’s IT liaison with UF/Hillsborough County for internet connectivity and computer asset management; and offers hardware and software improvement recommendations as assigned by the Department.

- Assists in the development and implementation of educational systems using multi-media platforms; serves as in-house technical expert and support regarding the use of instructional technologies, including computer-based training, desktop videoconferencing, multi-media, and distance learning.
- Develops and tests web pages and content using web-editing software.
- Serves as Extension's technical liaison to UF/Hillsborough County concerning workstations set-up, function, updates, and management of IT assets/inventory.
- Coordinates and manages promotional and educational efforts via social media and web-based platforms, printed collateral, infographics, presentations, videography, and photographs/images; develops/creates Departmental/program collateral consistent with Hillsborough County/UF branding guidelines.
- Maintains awareness of social media/marketing trends and collaborates with program faculty/staff on strategies and implementation; actively assesses and makes recommendations for improved communication of programming information.
- Educates/trains office faculty and staff on effective use of social media, multimedia platforms, and instructional technologies for use in their diverse program areas.
- Manages existing social media platforms/communities by providing relevant daily content, tracking metrics, monitoring comments/inquiries, and working to cultivate new connections.
- Processes images for web pages using image-processing software, such as Adobe Photoshop.
- Recommends technical purchases.
- Performs other related duties, as required.

Minimum Qualifications Required
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university; AND
- One year of experience directly related to the assigned program; OR
- An equivalent combination of education (not less than possession of a high school diploma/GED), training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted above.
Emergency Management Responsibilities
In the event of an emergency or disaster, an employee may be required to respond promptly to duties and responsibilities as assigned by the employee’s department, the County’s Office of Emergency Management, or County Administration. Such assignments may be for before, during or after the emergency/disaster.
