This position is in the Safety and Risk Management Department working with Workers' Compensation. We are located at Cleveland Elementary School.

Summary :

The Clerk 4, School Readiness, will investigate suspected provider and parent fraud based on external reports, providers' capacity, documentation, and quality control reviews. The Clerk 4, School Readiness, conducts interviews with suspects, and composes and forwards findings to appropriate law enforcement and state agencies.

SUPERVISORY EXPECTATIONS : Manage assigned clerical staff and subordinate professional personnel in one or more sections of the department. Take responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned teams. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the district's policies and applicable state and federal laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Responsibilities :

  • Coordinates with the Agency for Workforce Innovation, Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, intake and eligibility, Federal Finance and contract staff.
  • Generates at-risk enrollment reports and forwards to appropriate child welfare agencies.
  • Conducts investigations of suspected provider and parent fraud.
  • Assists in planning and conducting prospective School Readiness provider meetings as needed.
  • Reviews and processes School Readiness provider eligibility documentation as needed.
  • Performs quality control functions of refugee clients; completes intake and eligibility documentation as needed.
  • Maintains files and client information; enters data in the Refugee Services Data System as needed; attends related meetings, training sessions, and conferences as appropriate.
  • Adheres to all federal, state, and local program requirements and demonstrates positive behavior toward carrying out overall agency mission and goals.
  • Plans, assigns, and reviews the work of subordinate clerical staff engaged in various activities commensurate to the operation of the department.
  • Provides supervisory guidance involving interpretation, including decision-making responsibility with regard to non-routine matters requiring significant knowledge involving the operations and related functioning of the department.
  • Assists in the development of office procedures and required forms, including recommending changes and revisions as appropriate or as required.
  • Prepares various reports, summaries, payroll, travel forms, and other duties for the department.
  • Assists in the initial compilation of the department budget.
  • Disseminates information of a technical or administrative nature concerning departmental policies and functions, including generating applicable correspondence as appropriate or as required.
  • Interviews and recommends the employment of subordinate personnel as directed.
  • Performs basic computer skills such as keyboarding, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned.
