Job Description
Reporting to the Chef Manager, the Store Room Clerk is responsible to manage and clean storage areas, and inventory, store and rotate dry storage, refrigerated and freezer areas.
Responsibilities and Duties
Sweeps and mops floors and walk-in refrigerators daily. Sweeps and mops storerooms and walk-in freezer weekly. Uses computer to maintain current product pricing, place orders and track weekly inventory quantities. Mages Tube Feeding/Nutritional Supplement levels by weekly inventories and placing orders via computer. Manages produce to ensure appropriate levels of quality product. Completes weekly inventories, communicates with vendors regarding orders according to pre-established par levels and monitors quality of produce upon delivery. Maintains refrigerator and freezer temperature logs daily. Develops and carries through on a written action plan when daily temperatures are unacceptable. Empties trash in main kitchen area daily. Cleans dumpsters and trash cans weekly. Keeps shelves straightened and in order throughout the storage areas. Routinely check and clean walls and shelves in storage areas as needed. Assists purchasing clerk with inventory of dry storage, refrigerated and freezer areas. Straightens and rearranges storage areas as inventory is taken. Stocks shelves and rotates items so that first-in is first-out. Receives dietary food and supplies, when necessary, by checking items against invoice and order sheets. Reports any discrepancies to the Purchasing Clerk, including storage, damaged goods and returns. Gathers food handling supplies for the following areas: cafeteria, cold production and hot production areas.
Education
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Qualifications
Must be 16 year of age.
Physical ability to lift heavy cases of food and supplies.
Ability to withstand extreme temperature variances in work environment.
Ability to work with a personal computer for data entry.
