Summary:
Performs specialized duties in the operation of communications equipment, computerized alarm systems, camera systems, receiving, screening, and monitoring of emergency calls and dispatching vehicles to scenes of emergencies.

- Receives, screens, and monitors calls from district staff, various agencies, and citizens requesting assistance or information.
- Monitors and dispatches School Security and Emergency Management Officers, Transportation staff, and first responders.
- Monitors, screens, and receives district fire and intrusion alarms.
- Monitors district surveillance camera systems.
- Creates and sends mass communication notifications to district staff.
- Inputs calls for service and maintains applicable records on the Security and Emergency Management records management system and alarm database.
- Maintains a high degree of current knowledge of the location of various schools and streets that access them. Also, has current knowledge of the location of alarm control boxes and key safes.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.

Experience: Six (6) months experience in general clerical duties, alarm monitoring, or radio dispatching. One year of college (30 semester hours) or two (2) years of general work experience (or a combination of college and work experience) may substitute for six (6) months experience in general clerical duties, alarm monitoring, or radio dispatching.
Language Skills: Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Write simple correspondence. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Mathematical Skills: Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office
