Veterinary Assistant

Hillside Veterinary Associates is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team! Our support team is pivotal in delivering exceptional care during appointments, hospital stays and anesthetic procedures.

In this role, you will maintain detailed medical records, review and implement treatment plans, and address client questions regarding their pet’s care. You will also work closely with your team to manage the veterinarian’s orders, ensuring the highest standards of patient care while maintaining an efficient workflow to keep appointments and procedures on schedule. This role is ideal for detail-oriented Veterinary Assistants who excel in communication and client service.

This is a full-time position scheduled Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 7:30am-5pm, with rotating Saturdays.

• Compensation: $13.00-16.50 per hour, for each hour worked*

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 3 years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting
• Proficiency in the following skills:
  • Surgical set up and assistance
  • Radiology positioning and technique
  • Venipuncture and administering injections
  • Collecting laboratory samples

We practice Fear-Free techniques and take veterinary medicine to the next level without sacrificing quality patient care. We are a busy 3-doctor practice and our new building includes a surgery suite and ICU recovery ward, a dedicated surgical prep room, an additional exam room, a cat room with luxury condos, storage, and an office. In addition, we have updated our existing surgery area to a new and improved dental suite.
