Job Description
Hilltop Securities Inc. is currently looking for qualified students to join our Structured Finance team as a Summer Intern. This individual will work closely with our Structured Finance to gain hands-on experience in the profession while assisting with several key initiatives across the company. They will develop entry-level experience in the financial services industry, including development and delivery of initiatives, and effective practices. Our Summer 2025 Internship Program is an in-person experience lasting from May 27, 2025, to August 1, 2025, with opportunities located in downtown Dallas at our HTS Tower location and throughout the country at various branch locations.
Pay Range : $20 / hour
Responsibilities
- Experience on a full-service sales and trading desk - this individual will learn about products traded including treasury, agency, corporate, municipal, and mortgage-backed bonds. This person will also work on the taxable fixed income trading desk with Traders and Assistants on various projects using Bloomberg, Excel, and firm platforms.
- Work directly with Traders and Sales team
- Learn desk technique and strategy

About the Team
HilltopSecurities' Fixed Income department has over 2,000 Tier I institutional and middle market clients in all 50 states. We focus on three classes of fixed income investments-municipal, taxable, and securitized products. We are able to access a wide range of investment products for our clients, such as GSE agencies, commercial paper, CDs, CMOs, municipals, and corporate and mortgage-backed municipal securities. Our total balance sheet for all products reaches $1 billion, thanks to our more than 100 sales and trading professionals across the county, each of whom provide keen financial guidance. Our department participates in syndication and primary issuance, as well as three types of sales and trading-fixed income, securitized products, and investment grade and high yield. Our capabilities also include supporting the primary issuance of negotiated and competitive securities, HFA pooled securities, and state HFA CMOs.
