Senior Computational Designer

Role

HILOS is seeking a talented and passionate Senior Computational Designer to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing and developing cutting-edge computational design tools and techniques that push the boundaries of footwear design, engineering, and manufacturing. You will work closely with our cross-functional team of 3D engineers, designers, and developers to explore and develop innovative footwear concepts that translate into our cloud-based developer platform Interplay, and into physical production.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, marketing) to bring innovative footwear concepts to life.
• Prototype ideas using computational design and algorithmic methodologies, such as Grasshopper or Houdini.
• Create and implement specifications for additive manufacturing.
• Manage multiple projects effectively and communicate progress clearly.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in computational design, 3D printing, and digital fabrication technologies relevant to the footwear industry.
  
  

Essential Experience

• 6-8 years of professional computational design experience in a relevant field, such as Industrial Design, Architecture, or Computer Science.
• Strong proficiency in 2D and 3D design software, including Rhino, Grasshopper, and other relevant tools.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Passion for emerging technologies and a strong desire to push the boundaries of footwear design.

• Experience with footwear design and development, or a strong interest in footwear.
• Proficiency in Python, or a desire for self-directed learning.
• Experience with 3D printing and other digital fabrication techniques.
• Experience deploying software.
