Payroll Specialist

WHAT'S THE ROLE?

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the data accuracy and completion of payroll processing in United States and Canada. This role is responsible for 100% team member contact.

WHO IS HILTI?

WHAT DOES THE ROLE INVOLVE?

• Perform on-cycle and off-cycle payroll processing in the ADP GlobalView system per payroll schedule
• Manage workflows to ensure payroll is processed and disbursed in an accurate, compliant and timely manner
• Manage internal and external data files and reconcile with payroll results
• Review exception reports generated during payroll processing for accuracy of data submitted to ADP for processing
• Process termination payments and any necessary adjustments in compliance with jurisdiction requirements
• Execute timely, corrective action as necessary and in accordance with company policy in the event of an error or discrepancy by investigating and resolving payroll issues and communicating with the affected parties
• Reconcile payroll records and document internal controls prior to finalizing payroll run
• Partner with ADP to upload, review and mail garnishment documents
• Submit required documentation according to the approval process to treasury, banks, service providers and internal teams
• Educate and engage team members, managers and HR on payroll compliance and procedures within a multi-system environment
• Maintain and update written payroll procedures
• Provide support on special projects, as assigned by management
• Recommend process changes to payroll processes and procedures to payroll manager
• Other duties as needed or assigned

WHAT DO WE OFFER?

WHAT YOU NEED IS:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent working experience, required
• One (1) to three (3) years of payroll experience or equivalent transferable experience, required
• Payroll knowledge and experience, required Experience in a multi-state/multi-national payroll environment, required
• Demonstrated experience in Workday and ADP payroll systems
• Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with internal and external parties
• Demonstrated experience with PC software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Ability to organize and plan multiple activities that require close attention to detail
• Ability to handle highly confidential information; strict confidentiality is a must
