* QuickBooks Desktop: 3 years' experience

* QuickBooks Online: 3 years' experience

* Experience with payroll tax filings and reporting (federal, state, and local).

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and processing payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable laws and company policies.The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll administration and a strong understanding of payroll systems and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Process and maintain accurate and timely payroll for multiple clients and states. Review timekeeping data and employee information to ensure accurate calculations. Administer payroll taxes, deductions, benefits, and garnishments for multiple states. Prepare and process payroll reports for management and regulatory bodies. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, labor laws, and company policies. Respond to client inquiries regarding payroll. Manage payroll-related documentation and filing in accordance with company policies and legal requirements. Complete the preparation of year-end reports such as W-2s, W-3 and 940's. Perform payroll reconciliations and audits to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies. Assist with the implementation of payroll software or systems upgrades. Stay current with payroll-related laws and best practices for multiple states.

Skills & Abilities

Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other payroll-related software. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to handle confidential information with integrity. Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to keep client matters strictly confidential.
  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements of processing payroll returns.
  • QuickBooks experience is a must

Job Type: Full-time, in office

Salary: $24.00-28.00 per hour, Pay Dependent on Experience
