Since 1931, the Netherland Plaza's authentic French Art Deco character has been recognized as a National Historic Landmark. We’re one block from Duke Energy Convention Center and three blocks from Paul Brown Stadium.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Hotel Sales Manager.
Responsibilities :
Responsible for creating revenues through direct sales efforts necessary to achieve budgeted expectations, via maintaining existing accounts, prospecting new accounts, and handling customer inquiries.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- Solicits, negotiates, and books Room Sales business.
- Follows up on all completed group room blocks and solicits future business.
- Continually prospects for new business.
- Follows up or distributes appropriately, leads and or business booked.
- Maintains and updates competitive product offerings and pricing structures.
- Develops promotional ideas with the approval of the Area Director of Sales to increase sales.
- Documents all sales calls and or client correspondence in Delphi GF SOP.
- Coordinates with the appropriate departments in the hotel to resolve any issues, complaints, and problems to ensure quality product delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Ensures the proper completion and distribution of all required sales and / or documentation on a timely basis.
- Ensures proper customer service by meeting on-site contacts.
- Collects proper payment for functions in accordance with hotel standards.
- Participates in sales meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION AND OR EXPERIENCE :
Three years’ related experience and or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS :
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure materials. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY :
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
TRAINING NEEDS :
Training in GF Management Sales and Catering policies and procedures. Training in providing quality guest service and professional sales techniques.

Forty-five to fifty hours over a five-day period; days and times may vary based on need.
