SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating and preparing visually compelling designs and brand books for a variety of signs, including outdoor signage, interior signage, banners, and vinyl decal graphics. This role requires proficiency in graphic design software (Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator) and an eye for detail and creativity. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of design principles, a basic understanding of structural principles, and the ability to work collaboratively with project management and directly with the client at times to ensure the final product meets both aesthetic and functional requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Utilize CorelDraw to design signage brand books for a variety of clients, ensuring their brand identity and technical specification are accurately represented.
- Utilize knowledge of visual, structural & physical manufacturing principles to represent sizes & scales of various sign types.
- Create and prepare artwork for both digital and print production as well as for submitting to municipalities as part of a sign permit package.
- Work with the production team to ensure designs are technically feasible and meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with project management to understand the design needs of the client and make adjustments based on feedback.
- Ensure designs are optimized for production, including file preparation for manufacturing, cutting, printing, and installation.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices for signage design and production.
- Maintain organized and well-documented design files for easy access and future edits per Hilton Displays filing protocol.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
- Establishes and maintains effective team relationships with all supporting departments
- Follows all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
Job Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or GED required; Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator (experience with both is a plus).
- Strong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a creative mindset.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- A good understanding of typography, color theory, and layout design.
- Experience with large-format design and print production is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous experience working in the sign industry or related field is a plus.
Work Experience:
Minimum 2 (two) years of experience in Graphic Design. Sign industry and manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
