Job Description: Rooms Division Manager
Position Overview:
The Rooms Division Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the Rooms Division, including Front Office, Guest Services, Bell/Door Services, Housekeeping, and Laundry. This full-time position ensures seamless operations across these departments while maintaining exceptional guest service standards, optimizing financial performance, and fostering a positive, collaborative work environment. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as work hours may vary based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance, leadership, and instruction to department heads and team members in Front Office, Guest Services, Bell/Door Services, Housekeeping, and Laundry.
- Supervise and manage daily operations to ensure efficiency, exceptional service delivery, and adherence to property standards.
- Monitor and ensure guest-related systems and procedures are effectively followed to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
- Manage room inventory, availability, and reservation policies to meet occupancy and revenue goals.
- Oversee department budgets, forecasting, cost controls, and overall profitability.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and functionality across all areas.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns, requests, and complaints, ensuring effective resolution and documentation.
- Enforce and maintain employee relations efforts, including coaching, training, counseling, and performance evaluations.
- Review and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage while adhering to budget and productivity standards.
- Promote a safe and secure environment for guests and team members by ensuring adherence to workplace policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the General Manager, Assistant General Manager, and other department heads to achieve overall property goals.
- Manage and oversee executive office projects as needed, directing staff and monitoring progress.
- Monitor inventory and controls for keys, supplies, and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education/experience.
- Strong knowledge of guest services, housekeeping procedures, and departmental systems.
- Proficiency in computerized hotel management systems (OnQ/PEP preferred).
- Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership abilities with demonstrated success in managing and motivating teams.
- Knowledge of revenue management principles and financial performance metrics.
- Skilled in multitasking, prioritization, and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and collaborative workplace culture.
