What are the responsibilities and job description for the Night Auditor position at Hilton Garden Inn Stony Brook?
Are you a night owl who thrives in a calm, customer-focused environment? We’re looking for a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented Night Auditor to join our team! As the first point of contact for our guests during the night shift, you’ll provide exceptional service, handle guest requests, and ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
Schedule: Saturday-Tuesday from 11:00PM-6:00AM
The Hilton Garden Inn Stony Brook is located on the beautiful campus of Stony Brook University. Our hotel has 135 guest rooms, over 3,800 sq. ft. of event space, and is home to our very own restaurant Northern Coast Kitchen & Cocktails.
What will i be doing?
As our Night Auditor, you will:
- Prepare daily Restaurant Revenue Report data by auditing Point of Service tapes/journals to breakdown revenue, covers, waiters' fees, tips paid out and settlements by type and cashier.
- Run audit reports/journals from the front office system, Point of Service and the computer.
- Make corrections and adjustments and handle all computer problems that might occur throughout the shift.
- Input into the front office system revenue/expenses/allowances to generate the daily reports such as the Guest Ledger Summary and the Daily Restaurant Summary.
- Balance all revenue and settlement accounts nightly, maintain files and reset the system for next day operations.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
What are we looking for?
Hotel or Night Audit experience of at least a year is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate must have the ability to communicate in English, have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a calm, efficient manner. You must be customer-focused, self-motivated, and thrive in a dynamic, overnight environment.
