Job Description

This job description provides a basic guideline of the duties, responsibilities and requirements of this position. The frequency codes assigned in the job description are: Rarely(less than 1%); Occasionally(between 1% and 33%); Frequently(between 34% and 65%); and Constantly(between 66% and 100%).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have clean driving record with no issues - Absolutely no DUI convictions.
  • Must have current driver’s license.
  • Read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees.
  • Familiar with local area and attractions.
  • Experience in operating a twelve-passenger van or stretch limousine preferred.
  • 60 days Guest Services/Bell experience preferred.
  • Valid CDL license where applicable.
  • No employee will pose a direct threat to the health/safety of self or others.
  • PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
  • CUSTOMER SERVICE: Meet service quality standards that affect guest satisfaction; respond to guest questions or problems in a timely, professional manner.
  • WORK HABITS: Meet the hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, attendance, and punctuality; report to work and return from breaks on time; give advance notice when absence is anticipated; require typical amount of supervision; accept work assignments without complaints.
  • PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT: Accept opportunities to learn new skills, improve performance or cross-train for other hotel positions; solve routine problems that occur on the job; ask questions when not sure how to complete something; learn new skills as quickly as most others in the same job.
  • SAFETY AND SECURITY: Be alert to hazards and responsible in carrying out hotel’s safety, security, and emergency procedures; suggest ways to improve safety conditions that reduce or prevent accidents and injuries; participate on safety committee or other special projects for safety; actively seek and report potential security risks or hazardous conditions.
  • BELL SERVICE: Demonstrate guest service by assisting with luggage and special requests; meet standards for cleaning assigned areas including parking lot, lobby and entrance doors, assist other departments as needed.
  • VEHICLE OPERATIONS: Transport guests in a timely and safe manner; receive infrequent guest complaints about transportation services; properly maintain the appearance of the vehicles and the mileage log with the typical amount of supervision; no moving citations.

  • Constantly. Transport guests in a timely and safe manner to and from the airport
  • Explain room features to guests, general location of areas of interest and available services.
  • Constantly. Inform guests about all hotel facilities, their locations and hours of operation.
  • Constantly. Maintain work area neat and organized.
  • Constantly. Meet and greet guests.
  • Constantly. Report all unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Constantly. Take guest and their luggage to and from their rooms
  • Inspect guestrooms for general condition of lights, heat, A/C, television, radio and bathrooms.
  • Frequently. Pick up and deliver dry cleaning for the guests by stated times.
  • Frequently. Provide information on local attractions and give directions.
  • Occasionally. Attend all mandatory meetings.
  • Frequently. Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor to include cross training.
  • Frequently. Provide transportation to local restaurants and attractions.
  • Occasionally. Deliver messages and/or packages to meeting and guestrooms.
  • Occasionally. Service electric carts and vehicles when needed.
  • SITTING: Constantly. Driving van for long periods of time.
  • STANDING/WALKING: Constantly. Stands/walks on cement and asphalt up to several miles per shift.
  • CROUCHING (BEND AT KNEES): Frequently. Unloading and loading luggage in and out of vehicles.
  • KNEELING/CRAWLING: Rarely.
  • STOOPING (BEND AT WAIST): Frequently. Must bend while loading and unloading carts, vehicles, busses, etc.
  • TWISTING (KNEES/WAIST/NECK): Frequently. Driving carts, vehicles.
  • CLIMBING: Frequently. Climb stairs.
  • BALANCING: Frequently. Carrying items.
  • LEG/FOOT USE: Constantly. Must have quick leg and foot reaction for safe passenger vehicle operation.
  • REACHING (OVERHEAD/EXTENSION): Frequently. Must be able to lift 60 lbs. 6½ feet over head for loading and unloading carts.
  • HANDLING/GRASPING: Frequently. Handling of boxes, bags, luggage, etc. Grasping doorknobs and handles.
  • FINGERING/FEELING: Rarely.
  • PUSHING/PULLING: Occasionally. Average weight 40 lbs.; Maximum weight 500 lbs. with cart.
  • LIFTING/CARRYING: Frequently. Average weight 40 lbs.; maximum weight 80 lbs.
  • OTHER PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Rarely.
  • TALKING IN PERSON: Frequently. With guests, public and employees.
  • TALKING ON TELEPHONE: Frequently. With guests, public and employees.
  • OTHER SPEECH REQUIREMENTS. Constantly. Must be able to speak and write English fluently. Must be able to use 2-way radio.
  • HEARING IN PERSON: Frequently. With guests, public and employees.
  • HEARING ON TELEPHONE: Frequently. With guests, public and employees.
  • OTHER HEARING REQUIREMENTS: Frequently. For operating carts and vehicles safely. Must be able to use a 2-way radio.
  • NEAR VISION: Constantly. Corrected to 20/40.
  • FAR VISION: Constantly. Corrected to 20/40.
  • DEPTH PERCEPTION: Frequently. Required for operating carts and vehicles.
  • COLOR VISION: Rarely.
