What are the responsibilities and job description for the Houseperson position at Hilton Miami Downtown?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Generally cleans guest rooms by moving furniture and cleaning areas such as edging carpets, washing inside windows, checking drapes, scrubbing bathroom floors, inspecting with a black-light, changing shower curtains, vacuuming.
- Review assigned area and complete general removal of any trash or debris on floors of hallways.
- Stock linen carts with clean linen and supplies. Transport linen carts to appropriate floor closets and neatly stock.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of floor closets: remove trash, wipe down shelves/counters; sweep and wax floor: remove non-floor closet items and transport to proper storage areas.
- Rotates mattresses on a quarterly basis.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to communicate effectively and pleasantly in English with guests and staff as is necessary to effectively work within the department
- Ability to grasp, lift, carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 70 lbs
- Ability to move throughout building, bend, stoop and reach on a continuous basis up to an 8 hour shift.
- Other duties as assigned.
WORK EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred but not necessary
- 6 months to 1 year cleaning experience in housekeeping or janitorial services preferred.
- No special licenses or certificates required.
