Job Summary:
Himes Machine, Inc. is seeking a CNC/MILL Operator with experience in operating CNC milling machines to produce precision components. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC mills while ensuring compliance with quality standards and production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC milling machines to produce precision parts according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and materials for milling operations.
- Adjust machine speeds, feeds, and cutting parameters to optimize performance.
- Monitor the machining process and make necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct quality checks using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all safety procedures.
- Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and quality control personnel to improve machining processes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and ISO standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience operating CNC milling machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Knowledge of metal properties, cutting tools, and milling techniques.
- Basic understanding of CNC programming (G-code knowledge preferred but not required).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or technical training in CNC machining or manufacturing technology.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, SolidWorks, etc.).
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
