What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admissions Coordinator position at Hina Mauka?
Under the supervision of the Manager of Admissions and Adult Services-Leeward the Admission Coordinator carries out case management and services coordination for clients on the admission roster for inpatient services. Admission Coordinator collaborates with the client and its stakeholders all the requested documentation for an appropriate admission. The Admission Coordinator protects the confidentiality of clients and client records in accordance with all applicable Federal regulations.
I. Essential Functions
1. Manages the admission roster of applicants who have been screened and determined to be eligible for services.
2. Collaborates with intake staff on applicants who are appropriate for admission into inpatient services.
3. Works closely with community stakeholders and the applicant regarding preparation for admission.
4. Document updates in WIC-2/WITS as needed on each applicant to reflect current disposition.
5. Make appropriate referrals as needed and recommended to other community-based program for needed services.
6. Provide reports as needed on applicant trends and processes to include recommendations at Care Improvement meetings.
7. Maintains client records in accordance with Hina Mauka policies and procedures and in compliance with all state and federal laws, licensing and accreditation standards and contract stipulations.
8. Completes fiscal, statistical reporting and quality improvement tasks as required.

1. Performs other related duties as assigned.
III. Qualification Requirements
Educational/Experience and Training:
1.A bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or behavioral science preferred.
2. 2 years of direct experience providing case management and outreach services
3.CPR and First Aid Certification.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Ability to work with and relate to those with substance use disorders, including persons with co-occurring disorders and a criminal background.
2. Able to work with other professionals in a multi-dimensional program setting
3. Ability to respond calmly and efficiently to stressful situations with crisis management skills.
4. Well organized and able to maintain accurate concise records and documents in the electronic and physical chart.
5. Demonstrate the Hina Mauka values in interactions with people served, their support services and others in the community who are engaged with Hina Mauka.
6. Proficient in the use of excel, word and other software and electronic platforms.
IV. Physical/Mental Demands
Light physical effort (lift/carry up to 10 pounds); occasionally lifts supplies/equipment. Occasional standing/walking/driving. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases.
