English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher to join our Adult Ed educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds. This role involves teaching English language skills to non-native speakers, helping them achieve fluency and confidence in their communication abilities.

Duties

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to the needs of students learning English as a second language.
• Assess student progress through standardized testing and provide constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
• Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages participation, respect, and cultural exchange among students.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students of varying ages and backgrounds, particularly in ESL settings.
• Proven ability in curriculum development that aligns with educational standards and student needs.
• Strong writing skills for creating lesson plans, assessments, and educational resources.
• Experience with standardized testing procedures related to language proficiency is advantageous.
• A commitment to continuous professional development in teaching methodologies and educational best practices.

Our ESL / ELL class meets Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6pm-8:30pm, for a total of 5 hours per week.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $31.00 - $37.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 per week
