Description:
The Adult Basic Education Program of the Elwood Community School Corporation is seeking applications for the position of an Adult Ed Teaching Assistant. This position is part time with academic breaks built in. Our Adult Education classes help students age 16 and up prepare to take and pass the High School Equivalency (HSE) exam and earn their High School Equivalency Diploma.
Schedule: Tuesday and Thursday evenings (5:30-8:30pm or 6-9pm).
Location: Work One Anderson 140 E 53rd Street Anderson, Indiana or Hinds Career Center in Elwood, IN.
Pay: $13 - $14 an hour, depending on education or experience
Teaching Assistant’s responsibilities:
- grade papers and assist with student academic needs such as testing
- keep student records up to date on the state data website
- other minor clerical duties as needed
- attend professional development training at least once per semester
Teaching Assistant’s qualifications:
- Applicants must have a High School Diploma or
- GED/HSE and pass a criminal background check.
Recommended:
Some experience working with students, Google Drive, record keeping, and data entry.
