The essential functions of each individual position are determined and maintained by each individual department.Act as first point of contact when residents are brought to the facility by law enforcement officers or Court officials. Conduct search for contraband as dictated by policy and procedures.Review resident's arrest referral, court order(s) for accuracy. Ensure the nature of the offenses(s) are acceptable for admission.Conduct initial intake interview with the resident.Process residents into the facility by entering pertinent information into the computer system. Photograph residents using digital camera system. Fingerprint residents by rolling fingerprints in ink. Generate identification wristbands.Conduct a preliminary medical and mental health screening (MAYSI-2). Observe the behavior, physical and mental condition of each admission. Determine if resident has any medical / mental health attention, etc.Recommend implementation of appropriate "watches" (e.g., suicide, medical, behavior) to supervisor.Refer to supervisor for final determination on admission.Remove inventory and secure all personal property (e.g. clothing, monies, jewelry) while in the presence of the resident. Secure all property in designated locker area.Create and maintain resident's master file (hard copy).Update and maintain accurate records on residents regarding status change.Prepare release paperwork for review by supervisor.
