Job Description
Hines Furlong Line, Inc, one of the fastest growing, industry leading carriers on the inland waterways, is seeking to fill the roll of Logistics Coordinator in our Nashville TN or Paducah, KY office. Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with excellent organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for optimizing utilization of assets on the Cumberland River.
Plan and execute daily dispatching, including: preparing vessel orders, prioritizing barge movements, communicating with customers and vendors and ensuring accuracy of data within internal software systems.
Conduct data analysis, verification, and interpretation to support operational decisions and provide insights.
Support the accounting department in preparing invoices.
Analysis of key performance indicators pertaining to the efficiency and utilization of our Cumberland river towing operation.
Gather, analyze, and communicate key industry data on markets, river conditions, and other relevant information.
Identify sales opportunities and optimize the use of the fleet.
Customer facing position that requires clear and timely communication and occasional overnight travel.
After-hours and on-call responsibilities are required.
Additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field preferred but not required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with strong computer skills.
Ability to self-manage without the need for constant managerial oversight.
Detail-oriented with the ability to identify errors and solve complex problems.
