Summary of Position: Hingham Church is seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Director to lead, mentor, and disciple our youth. This role is responsible for developing and overseeing programs that nurture spiritual growth, build relationships, and engage young people in the life of the church. The Youth Director shall be the spiritual leader of the youth of Hingham Church in all of their activities and shall carry out the ministry of the youth group through faithful Bible teaching, administrative planning, and setting a godly example.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spiritual Leadership & Discipleship: Guide youth in developing a strong foundation in faith through teaching, mentorship, and discipleship programs.
- Program Development & Execution: Plan and oversee youth group meetings, Bible studies, retreats, service projects, and special events.
- Outreach & Engagement: Actively engage youth through community involvement, school visits, social gatherings, and one-on-one mentoring.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the senior pastor, church staff, parents, and volunteers to create a thriving youth ministry.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain records, plan budgets, coordinate schedules, and manage communication through various platforms.
- Volunteer Recruitment & Training: Identify, train, and equip volunteers to support youth ministry programs effectively.
- Weekly Meetings: Meet with the senior pastor weekly to discuss ministry progress, challenges, and upcoming plans.
- Summer Responsibilities: Lighter workload during summer months, focusing on planning, relationship-building, and preparing for the upcoming ministry year.
Qualifications:
- A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a passion for youth ministry.
- Bachelor’s degree in ministry, theology, education, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in youth ministry leadership, either professionally or as a volunteer.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to connect with youth and foster relationships built on trust and biblical principles.
- A team player with a heart for collaboration and community engagement.
- Must pass a background check and adhere to church policies and values.
