Hino Motors Manufacturing is an OEM that assembles trucks in West Virginia, automotive components in Arkansas, and operates a parts distribution center in California.
We are currently seeking an Assistant Manager, Human Resources & Administration for our Corporate Headquarters located in Novi, MI reporting directly to the Assistant General Manager, HR & Administration. This individual will be responsible for human resources activities including but not limited to carrying out administrative tasks, HRIS management, vehicle management, travel management and talent management for the Novi location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage HR/Administration duties for Novi.
- Manage onboarding function and new hire orientations for Novi.
- Conduct monthly Team Member communication meetings.
- Oversee HR/Admin SharePoint administration.
- Oversee Vehicle Administration program, Travel/Expense System (Concur), ADP, Brainier and PerformYard.
- Track and monitor company vehicle eligibility; resolve all company vehicle related issues
- Continuously improve HR practices, policies and procedures, and employee morale.
- Act as IATF point of contact for HR/Admin team.
- Assist with employee relations matters: addressing personnel issues, investigations, terminations/disciplinary action, providing consultation to workplace concerns.
- Conduct HR audits and compliance initiatives. Comply with SOX and provide all documents/information for all SOX audits.
- Assist with training and development and performance management.
- Conduct training on including policies and procedures, emergency preparedness, safety, ethics, sexual harassment, interviewing, travel/expense system, etc.
- Develop and implement e-learning in Brainier.
- Conduct annual company-wide engagement surveys and support facilitation of actions on survey items with reporting of action and results.
- Develop and track monthly HR Key Performance Indicators.
- Conduct exit interviews for corporate location with quarterly reporting and analysis on turnover, continuous improvement actions and required exit processing.
- Ensuring compliance with all State and Federal Regulations in employment practices and advise management.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required (Human Resources, Psychology or Business)
- Master’s degree preferred (MBA or Other)
- Minimum of 7 years Human Resource experience. Automotive experience highly desirable.
Skills Required:
- HR generalist experience.
- Demonstrated experience with policy and procedure development.
- Knowledgeable in training and development initiatives, HRIS, employment law, employee engagement, employee relations, recruiting.
- Highly proficient in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skill sets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and data management skills.
- Knowledge of ADP highly desirable.
