Hino Motors Manufacturing is an OEM that assembles trucks in West Virginia, automotive components in Arkansas, and operates a parts distribution center in California.

We are currently seeking a Facilities Supervisor for our Marion, AR location.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Adhere to all company policies including the ability to maintain an on-call status on either an intermittent or regularly scheduled basis.
  • Must be able to pass criminal background check, pre-hire physical including lifting and walking tests, and a pre-hire drug test.
  • Ability, willingness, and compliance to work safely & wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Meet attendance expectations - must not have a pattern of tardiness, late arrivals and / or absences regardless of status of disciplinary actions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to speak with employees / vendors at any level in a professional manner (clear, complete, & concise).
  • Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision in collaboration and support of team objectives.
  • Visual acuity and excellent observation skills.
  • Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, OT, & weekends / holidays.
  • Ability to work in a hot, humid, noisy, & high-volume manufacturing environment, including ability to climb, bend, & stoop.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders and stairs, and stand for continuous periods of time.
  • Perform record keeping, as required.
  • Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks (duties and responsibilities) other than those specifically presented in this job description.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and Company safety rules and regulations; communicate all non-compliance to immediate supervisor / manager.
  • Read and follow all Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Work Practices, Product Standards, and Work Orders to perform assigned tasks.
  • Maintain plant support systems in working order, i.e. heat, air, fans, air compressors and dryers, etc.
  • Ensure scheduled maintenance tasks / activities performed on equipment meet or exceed the manufacturer’s requirements for quality and reliability.
  • Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting.
  • Perform troubleshooting, equipment / facility repairs and replace components, as required.
  • Read and understand equipment manuals, technical references, machine drawings, schematic diagrams, and work orders to perform required maintenance.
  • Participate in the Continuing Training Program, as directed.
  • Lead maintenance tasks and conduct shift performance reviews.
  • Proven effective and efficient leader of individuals and work teams, as well as work as a team member.
  • Keen organizational and prioritization skills in a fast-paced continuous manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, including proactive problem solving and resolution.
  • Coordinate with the Storeroom Coordinator to ensure parts are available for work, inventory control procedures are utilized, and parts are placed on order as necessary.
  • Ensure maintenance spaces and areas within maintenance work boundaries are free from excess tools, materials, debris and other items not in use or that are unnecessary for operating and maintaining production equipment.
  • Responsible for housekeeping in Parts Storeroom, Facilities Department spaces, including air compressor rooms; ensure work areas are neat, organized and safe, including utilizing 5S Methods.
  • Ensure manufacturer warranties remain effective by adhering to necessary safeguards and guidelines.
  • Assist in the development and execution of the shift plan / schedule.
  • Assist Facilities Manager in developing and implementing continuous improvement projects in accordance with the Long-Range Strategic Plan.

Education & Experience Requirements :

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a maintenance supervisor role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • High School or equivalent, post-secondary education is desirable, such as vocational training or course work in engineering technology.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred.
  • Required Skills :

  • A record of stable & continuous employment, including a minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience.
  • Understanding of OSHA safety requirements, practices, and procedures.
  • Good working knowledge of facilities and industrial equipment and O&M requirements.
  • Working knowledge of preventative maintenance and reliability improvement programs.
  • Knowledge of skilled trades, equipment fabrication, electricity and electronics, mechanics, PLC’s, machine drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, plumbing and pipe fitting.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to team members to ensure the development of team members.
  • Make / Influence prioritization decisions to enhance productivity.
  • Administrative tasks such as ensuring reports are completed for the shift.
